Have you seen Google 2001? Google turns 10 years old this month and, as part of the festivities, Google will let you search the web as it looked in 2001, using GOOGLE as it looked in 2001.
It’s kind of trippy to see the old Google logo, not to mention that reading CNN.com’s headlines from 2001 also seems a little surreal. Can you believe that, at the time, Google had only indexed 1,326,920,000 pages? lol
Google is also offering links to the Internet Archive Wayback Machine, which lists cached versions of web pages from that time period. Big G says that the site will remain open for just one month. After that, it’s “history”.
