Is it even better than a hole-in-one? Four golfers from Langley, British Columbia have scored a $30 million Lotto Max jackpot in Canada.
Ian McMurtrie, Wayne Miller, Tom Moryson, and Joe Scully, who work together in Langley and also happen to be golinf buddies, had the winning ticket in Friday’s drawing.
McMurtrie first discovered their big win while watching the news on Saturday morning and says his wife screamed at the top of her lungs and collapsed on the floor.
“I only got to see five numbers before I collapsed because I was shaking so hard,” he said. “She had to check the last two.”
He then signed all four winners’ names on the back of the winning ticket and started phoning his pals with the good news.
The golf foursome regularly plan trips to famous golf courses in Pebble Beach, California and St. Andrews, Scotland, and they’re also heading to Augusta, Georgia for the 2013 Masters Tournament.
The winning ticket was a Quick Pick bought at the Otter Co-op in Abbotsford.
There’s no word yet on what the duffers plan to do with their winnings.
