Gina Carano has been kind of busy.
In 2008, she appeared on the new American Gladiators as “Crush”. In 2009, Carano placed at number 16 on Maxim’s Hot 100 list.
Later that year she appeared on the cover of ESPN: The Magazine’s Body Issue.
On August 15, 2009, Gina Carano and Cris “Cyborg” Santos met in what was likely the biggest fight in WMMA
history.
For the last year, she’s been filming “Haywire”, her film debut and Steven Soderbergh’s latest project that will open in theaters on January 20.
The movie also stars Channing Tatum, Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas, Antonio Banderas, and Bill Paxton.
In the movie, Carano plays Mallory Kane, a freelance black-ops soldier seeking revenge on those who set her up and betrayed her during a mission. Watch the first five minutes of the movie above (warning: mature content). Reports indicate that Carano did all her own stunts. WINNING!
Recently, Gina Carano sat down with GQ to shed some light on what makes her tick.
“I am not a violent person,” she says. “I actually don’t like to hurt people.” So why does she like to fight then?
“I like fighting,” she says, “because it’s honest.”
What about her romantic life? Does she date? Yes, she does, but be warned, guys.
“The guys I date always want to test my strength and wrestle around,” she says. “By the end, they’re drenched in sweat.”
