The Peninsula hotel in New York City was the site of a horrific botched murder suicide in which socialite Gigi Jordan killed her son, 8, because of marital woes.
Jordan, 49, was found rambling on incoherently in room 1154 of the hotel, according to authorities. Her son, Jude Jordan, was discovered on the floor foaming at the mouth, having died of an apparent drug overdose.
Reports seem to indicate that prescription medication was found strewn about the room, as were many notes, though it is unclear whether or not they were suicide notes. Jude is thought to have been dead for about a day.
Jordan, who’s been divorced twice, isn’t being very cooperative thus far and won’t answer any questions. She departed from her home at Trump Towers on Wednesday night and checked into the Peninsula with her son. According to police, she paid her bill in cash and ordered room service.
Gigi had apparently been communicating with her aunt in Belgium, threatening to kill Jude as well as herself. Her aunt subsequently got in touch with the NYPD, who tracked her down at Peninsula.
The door to her hotel room had been double-locked and a chair was propped up against it from the inside.
Jordan was whisked away to Bellevue earlier today after Jude’s body was found.
