Oh, Larry. You were doing so well and then you had to go and pull this boneheaded move.
It looks like that record deal wasn’t good enough. General Larry Platt has lawyered up and will seek financial compensation for all those various renditions of his “Pants on the Ground” song that have been circulating on the internet like wildfire.
Seems the General hasn’t gotten a single penny out of the hit song he “performed” at the American Idol auditions. Now he’s looking to fix that by going back and demanding a piece of the action for all those “Pants on the Ground” remixes and t-shirts, apparently.
See, here’s the thing…Platt never copyrighted the song so he’s hired an attorney to help him get a piece of the action while the iron is hot (was that too many euphemisms for one sentence?).
General, the reaction to this song has seemed somewhat forced all along, and frankly, it’s not that good.
Take you record deal, go make your CD and cash in that way. Don’t go after Brett Favre or anyone else who’s been singing your song. When it’s all said and done, Favre’s version was better than yours.
