In September, Michael Jordan is set to be inducted the Basketball Hall of Fame. Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player to ever walk the planet. Gatorade, one of Jordan's many sponsors, is using this opportunity to create a social media windfall.
The sports drink company has just unveiled a new Facebook app that highlights the greatest moments from Jordan’s career and lets users then vote on their favorite. That moment is then posted to the user's wall.
Each highlight features commentary from a famous sports broadcaster and, at the end of the competition, the highlight getting the most votes will become a Gatorade label. The company has already manufactured 6 commemorative Michael Jordan labels...the winner be made into the 7th.
The app is part of Gatorade’s own Facebook page. Here, Gatorade shares the making of the commemorative bottles, shown in this 30-second video:
Epic job, Gatorade. This one is a winner.
