F My Life: It's Funny, It's True, Except When It Happens to You

Back in May, Gabrielle Schoeneweis, the wife of then Arizona Diamondbacks reliever Scott Schoeneweis, was found dead.  She was 39 at the time.

On Tuesday, the autopsy results were released.  The findings indicate that Gabreille Schoeneweis died from an overdose of cocaine and lidocaine (an anesthetic).

The court also ruled that her cocaine use “may have caused harm to another person.” That person has not been identified.

The court became involved once Scott Schoeneweis tried to have his wife's death certificate and autopsy results sealed. A three-judge Court of Appeals panel disclosed the cause of death in a ruling on whether the death records had to be disclosed under Arizona public records law.

A lawyer for Scott Schoeneweis argued that release of the cause of death would cause emotional suffering for the family.

Scott & Gabrielle celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in January. They had three children together and she had a daughter from a previous relationship when the two married.

Scott is now a free agent, having signed only a one-year contract with Arizona for this season.
