FSU Lineman Zebrie Sanders Doesn’t Move after Snap (VIDEO)

I'm not exactly sure what Florida State lineman Zebrie Sanders was thinking here. Perhaps, we're all confused and this was a newly erected statue in his honor.

After the quarterback snaps the ball, Sanders doesn't move - at all.

Often, players will "freeze" like this to ensure that any penalty flags that are thrown go the other way.

Still, I think Zebrie Sanders took the idea a little too far. This one's sure to make the sports blooper reel.

Here is the real explanation: FSU OL Coach Rick Trickett, a former Marine, instructs his players to hold still if they think the defense is offside. Sanders was simply following his training to not move when the ball is snapped early. Why did he remain frozen after no penalty was called? I assume that Sanders would rather be made fun of by uninformed members of the media, than suffer the wrath of Coach Trickett. Also, it is important to note that this strategy led to five offside penalties against the Gators - several of those resulting in 1st downs.
