If you recall, we posted a week or so ago about Mike Massimino, an astronaut on the space shuttle Atlantis. We were reporting on the first tweet sent to Twitter from space.
Guess what? It looks like Massimino wasn’t really tweeting from space on the @Astro_Mike account. Turns out an employee at NASA was doing this for him.
Massimo e-mailed his "tweet" and then the NASA employee posted it for him...so to make things worse, the information was also a far cry from "real time."
Does this make the tweets any less valid or relevant? I think so, since the info was purported to be real time and purported to be coming from Massimo himself.
Still, further investigation reveals that Massimo did sort of disclose this in his first couple of tweets. Was no one paying attention? lol...
