flight of the conchords grounded Flight of the Conchords Crashes, Burns

I guess we all saw it coming. The HBO comedy "The Flight of the Conchords" won't be back.

After lots of speculation, co-creators Bret McKenzie, Jemaine Clement and James Bobin made the announcement on their site.

"We've noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won't be returning for a third season," they wrote. "We're very proud of the two seasons we made, and we like the way the show ended."

The fact that the trio still live in New Zealand made "Flight of the Conchords" very difficult to produce, so many thought this day would come sooner rather than later.

The second season earned a best comedy series Emmy nomination and a best actor nod for Clement.
