Great sports moments are often marked by “historic firsts”. A pitcher’s first no-hitter, a hitter’s first time hitting for the cycle, a team’s first World Series win, a quarterback’s first Super Bowl victory, etc.
Streaking is not the first thing that comes to mind, however, when thinking of historic firsts.
Last night the New York Mets beat the Atlanta Braves 4 – 3 in 10 innings. This game had everything but the kitchen sink, bases-loaded walks, double plays, outfield assists, you name it.
It also featured the first streaker in Citi Field history.
Yes, an overly enthusiastic naked Mets fan took off in a sprint across the field with “Lets Go Mets” written painted on his back. He made it to the outfield before he was stopped and cuffed.
A friend of his apparently got the whole thing on video. This begs the question, what do you do with a runner with two balls?
Enjoy the video…
