Can you believe it was just this past August when Facebook hit 100 million users?
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted a message on the official Facebook blog yesterday confirming that the number of users for the site has now hit the 200 million mark.
Facebook basically doubled its already-huge user base in just 8 months.
A stunning 50 million people have joined Facebook so far in 2009, which works out to about 500,000 people per day!
To celebrate, Facebook has launched a new charity campaign. You can go here and share your stories about “how Facebook has helped them give back to their communities, effect change or connect with a distant relative.”
They’re working together with 16 charity groups that have created gifts, available in Facebook’s gift shop.
