F My Life: It's Funny, It's True, Except When It Happens to You
When will the huge joke that has become Facebook be over?
In the last few months, we've seen them threaten to take ownership of users' information, double-back on that idea, make it difficult to remove deceased users' profiles, and most recently, censor private messages between users.
Now we have company executives threatening to take down users' pages in retaliation for poor service or perceived mistreatment in the real world.
Randi Zuckerberg is Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s sister and also an executive at the company (as well as their unofficial spokesperson).
The official line, of course, is that this tweet was a joke, but does it really matter at this point? The message here is very Sopranos-like. "Treat us poorly and we'll take down your page." The tweet has now been removed, as you might expect.
I guess when you run a little website where people go when they're bored and are prompted repeatedly to take IQ tests gives you a bit of a god complex.
This kind of childish mentality has got to go. Facebook users have had it up to here and it won't take much to set them off or have them abandoning ship.
The real question is, if Facebook is so great, why did a company executive send this message via Twitter?
