You can't run, you can't hide. Facebook will find you.
A new app from Face.com that launches in semipublic alpha today will bring facial recognition to Facebook. The app is called Photo Finder and it says it can help you find photos of yourself, and even your friends, that you didn't know were out there.
Photo Finder begins by scanning photos that you upload as well as pics on your friends’ profiles. It will then detect the faces within each photo and conduct a search on Facebook for other photos with matching faces. Thankfully, the program does find only those pictures that are publicly available to you.
Photo Finder had been in a closed alpha with about 150 people trying it out. Starting today, though, you can check it out for yourself by going to the site.
