The 2010 Ryder Cup is turning out to be a pretty big deal as far as the internet subculture goes, but it’s not for the reasons you might think.
No, the internet doesn’t care who won, silly.
What seems to have caught the eye of most web citizens is the epic picture below, which captures the moments just before photographer Mark Pain of The Daily Mail got nailed with an errant shot from Tiger Woods.
While the photo in and of itself is fairly impressive, it’s what the crazy, ingenious soles over at Reddit did with the photo that is really lighting up the web.
You see, the crowd became the real stars of the photo. On the right, notice that strange-looking guy with the mustache and cigar? Well, the folks over at Reddit did a “facebomb” and replaced the faces of everyone in the crowd, even Tiger and the ball, with that man’s face.
