It’s a crisis of epic proportions.  Eggo waffles are vanishing from store shelves – and they’re not coming back any time soon.

Turns out there is actually an Eggo waffle shortage!

The shortage is being blamed on flood damage at a core bakery located in Atlanta, according to Kellogg, the company that makes Eggo waffles.

“I think that’s insane. That’s crazy,” said one parent. “How do you run out of waffles?”

Some Eggo waffle boxes are still on the store shelves, but they won’t be there long. You could be waiting until mid-2010 for more Eggo’s.

The company has been making repairs to its equipment as quickly as possible but those repairs have taken longer than anticipated.

“Eggo is working around the clock to bring everyone’s favorite waffles back to store shelves as quickly as possible. We hope to regain full distribution of Eggo products by the middle of 2010,” a post on the Eggo Website said.
