Drake University has unveiled an interesting new marketing campaign. If you spend thousands upon thousands of dollars, you too could have a “D+” education.
According to the school’s new campaign, Drake University can help students “be transformed by an experience that puts opportunity into action and gives purpose to your passion.”
What do we call this wonderful new experience? That’s right, the “D+ Advantage.”
“When we talk about D+, that’s what we mean. Every moment at Drake is one that has the power to educate, to transform, to open minds and to unleash potential – to introduce who you are, to who you hope to become.”
Funny, I thought D+ was just one step removed from total failure…much like this campaign.
Drake officials stand by the campaign, however, stating that the campaign “was designed to catch the attention of high school students who are bombarded with college and university materials to the point that they are often in information overload and unable to differentiate among the many institutions that have contacted them.”
Well, I’ll give them that much. It does grab your attention.
