Police say Dr. Jacquelyn Kotarac, a doctor in California, attempted to access the home of the man she had been seeing by sliding down his chimney. She didn’t make it. Her decomposing body was found stuck there days later.
Currently, investigators do not suspect foul play in the death.
Dr. Kotarac, 49, apparently climbed on the roof on Wednesday evening, took off the chimney cap, and slid feet-first down the chimney after being unable to get in via other means.
The man whom Kotarac was dating had exited the home unnoticed in order to avoid a possible confrontation.
Dr. Kotatac’s body went undiscovered for several days until finally someone detected a foul odor coming from the fireplace in the home.
Firefighters dismantled the chimney Saturday to remove the body.
