Now that the “bra color” craze is over, Facebook has a new status update craze sweeping across the site.
If you are an avid Facebooker, you will have likely seen the following “status update” or something similar pop up in your news feed:
It’s Celebrity Doppelganger week. During this week please change your profile picture to someone famous you have been told you look like and post this to your profile.
No one seems to know exactly where this craze originated, but it looks like it will be around for a while. Unlike the “bra color” updates, this trend gives users the chance to suggest that they look like someone more attractive and famous than they probably are.
Maybe they decided to call it Doppelganger Week on Facebook because it sounds more polite than “wishful thinking” week.
