As you may have read in Part I and Part II of this post, yesterday I tried a little bit of creative offline marketing to generate traffic to an online CPA offer, thanks to an awesome idea from my friends over at Dominate IM. The event ended roughly 30 hours ago and, thus far, the level of traffic to the website that I created for this effort has been much lower than I expected.

Now, I'm going to say something a little unconventional here. This has actually been a GOOD experiement. In fact, the problem with the campaign lies NOT with the folks over at Dominate IM, but rather, with my implementation of the idea.

I was a bit rushed in launching it due to the fact that I basically thought of this idea the DAY before the event. It seems that I focused a bit too much on the celebrity involved and NOT on the demographic of the crowd itself.

Keep in mind, this is why 95% of all internet marketers do not make any money online. Many IM-ers would have an experience like this and think, "Well, this doesn't work. I'm giving up on this method."

Do NOT be that person.

In fact, in the Dominate IM forums, I have laid out my ENTIRE campaign in every detail (yes, I even show my landing page). I also reveal my total expense for this campaign (actually, it was just over $100...insanely cheap given that there were several thousand people attending this event) as well as WHERE I outsourced my work.

The beauty of Dominate IM is that I will now get the feedback I need to take this ho-hum campaign and turn it into a WINNER. I'm good at many areas of IM, but I've never tried the offline thing before, so I'll leave it to the experts to guide me. In fact, I already know where I should distribute my material next in order to increase my conversions. I have also implemented, not just one, but THREE calls to action on my landing page (which, again is on display inside the Dominate IM forums).

So it's back to the drawing board in a sense. That is what will make you a successful internet marketer. NEVER give up under any circumstances. There are no failures...just tests. This particular test helped me zero in on what to do and what not to do.
