Popular document-sharing site DocStoc has just launched DocShots, a totally free service that lets you convert any document on a site into a hoverable link that gives an instant document preview. DocShots’ technology aims to eliminate long download times while giving readers a very simple way to preview documents.
DocShots lets you copy and paste a simple code into the coding of your website, thereby converting any documents (Word, Powerpoint, PDF, and Excel) to DocShots links. You can also specify the exact size of the pop-up window. When users hover over the links, they can instantly preview files in a pop-up viewer.
DocShots includes tabs where the reader can click on related documents and see additional documents posted by the publisher.
