Dockers took an innovative approach to Super Bowl advertising this year. Looks like they figured they would just give away some pants.
If you were among the first 2,010 people to register at dockers.com/freepants, you get a free pair of pants – men’s soft khakis, to be precise.
There are two ways you can register:
1. From your computer or smart phone, visit www.dockers.com/freepants, then complete and submit the registration including your first name, email address and zip code.
2. From your cell phone, send the text message DOCKERS to short code 76060. You’ll receive a response asking for your e-mail address to register. To opt out of text messages from Dockers later, text STOP to 76060.
Winners will be notified by e-mail within 24 to 72 hours, with a gift code redeemable at www.dockers.com/freepants.
The problem, though, is that the commercial was so popular that the Dockers website crashed. It was unavailable at several points after the commercial aired.
Hopefully, Dockers is working on this since they, you know, bought a Super Bowl ad and all. You would think they would have been prepared for a massive amount of traffic.
