Celebrity DJ Adam Goldstein, also known as DJ AM, was found dead in his New York apartment shortly after 5pm EDT on Friday evening.
Drug paraphernalia was reportedly found near the body.
DJ AM, 36, performed at many of Hollywood’s most exclusive celebrity bashes. He had also had relationships with both Nicole Richie and Mandy Moore.
One of Goldstein’s friends had gone to check on him, but didn’t get a answer after several knocks on his door. The same friend called police, who proceeded to break down the door of Goldstein’s apartment and found his body inside.
In a Final Destination-like twist, Goldstein had survived a fiery plane crash with Travis Barker last year. That crash killed four others. He had also recently finished shooting an eight-episode series for MTV about addiction called Gone Too Far.
