Was Michael Jackson's death the result of a Demerol overdose? New reports seem to indicate that possibility.
Demerol is an opioid analgesic drug used to treat moderate to severe pain. The drug is similar to morphine, but it's supposed to be safer with less risk of addiction.
According to unconfirmed reports, Jackson's people told early responders on the scene that he had collapsed after a Demerol injection.
“Shortly after taking the Demerol he started to experience slow shallow breathing” an unnamed aide told the media. “His breathing gradually got slower and slower until it stopped.”
Michael Jackson never regained consciousness. More should be known regarding the official cause of death early next week.
