Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson’s official cause of death was released today by the coroner. Johnson apparently died after succumbing to a coma triggered by diabetic ketoacidosis.
Diabetic ketoacidosis is a state the body enters into when there is too little insulin available to break down sugar and have it converted into energy.

In this ultra-deprived state, the body begins to use fat for energy, and the person can quickly fall into a coma. Once in the comatose state, if left untreated, this condition can be fatal as was clearly the case for Casey Johnson.
No drugs were recovered and none are specifically mentioned in her toxicology reports.
