It’s been confirmed that Dennis Hopper has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The actor will take a break from traveling to focus on treatment.
Hopper, 73, is receiving treatment through a special program at the University of Southern California, according to his manager, Sam Maydew. “We’re hoping for the best,” he added.
The actor was hospitalized in September and was suffering from flulike symptoms along with stomach problems. Hopper was treated for dehydration and released.
Dennis Hopper recently finished up the second season of the Starz television series “Crash.” In it, he portrays maniacal music producer Ben Cendars. He also currently has several film projects in the works.
