When Dell decided to launch its brand new Adamo laptop, there was one minor detail the company had over looked. It didn't own the Adamo.com domain name.
Tucows owned it as part of its Yummy Names collection. Dell has come around now and just bought the name, which now seems to resolve to Dell’s official Adamo website.
Before the launch, Tucows offered Dell a $750/month lease but that was rejected.
Apple actually took a similar path when it purchase the iPhone domain name. Hopefully, these companies will start taking the "domain name" aspect of their marketing plan a bit more seriously. Or, if you happen to be a domainer, hopefull not
