Have all the really good ideas for wedding proposals been taken? Every week you hear about some guy who’s hired a skyr-writer, taken out a newspaper ad, or even altered a video game, just to get his girlfriend to marry him. Some of these guys really go all out.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
David Jones, a video producer based out of Cleveland, Ohio, decided to raise the bar a bit for all of us guys. He asked his girlfriend, Dee Horton, to marry him via a television commercial.
Jones ensured that his girlfriend would be tuned in at the right time by telling her he would be playing a superhero in a local TV commercial.
As she was cutting one of her client’s hair, however, she quickly realized that this commercial was meant just for her.
“A lot of people say we’re living on love, like it’s a bad thing,” Jones says in the commercial. “How about you and I show the world what true love is all about?”
He then pulled out a ring and popped the question. A few seconds later, Jones showed up at Horton’s salon with a WJW camera crew and asked his important question in person.
