“I find your lack of cash disturbing…”
“These are not the bank robbers you’re looking for, move along…”
The economy is even hitting the Empire hard, as a man dressed as Darth Vader robbed a Chase bank branch on Long Island in New York on Thursday.
The perp entered a branch in Setauket at about 11:30 a.m. EDT and demanded money from one of the bank’s tellers. Instead of wielding the traditional light saber (or perhaps the Pro Arctic Laser), this villain flashed a semiautomatic gun.
After the teller handed the bank robber some money, one valiant customer started to battle the veil Darth Vader inside the bank.
Luckily, no one was injured.
The thief then fled the scene, heading east through the bank’s parking lot, and then jumped on a bicycle, cape flapping behind him as he ran.
It is not yet known whether authorities will “use the force” to try and apprehend the criminal.
