F My Life: It's Funny, It's True, Except When It Happens to You
Relax, Twitter users, all is well with the world. It looks like the predicted Twitpocalypse has been averted.
Twitter got proactive and, rather than wait around for disaster to strike, they triggered the cataclysmic event today instead. It seems to have worked.
“As planned, we averted the twitpocalypse with a deploy this afternoon,” Twitter co-founder Biz Stone said.
There have been a few side effects, however. Twitter Search will be down on and off throughout the day today. Also, apps like Twitterrific and TweetDeck have crashed. Tech crews are working on these problems as of this writing.
Still, this is good news for Twitter addicts. It could have been much worse.
