iFart Mobile
is making headlines once again. The farting iPhone application has launched a competition for users to create the best commercial. The winner will get $5,000 for creating the best 30 to 60 second “iFartmercial.”
Developer Joel Comm clearly has the cash to launch such a contest. His application first made headlines after he published that it was making about $10,000 a day. But on Christmas Day downloads exploded even further, netting him nearly $30,000 for the one day. The app stayed at the top of the App Store paid apps list for three weeks.
Entries, which are to be submitted to YouTube, will be judged on criteria such as creativity, social media buzz, YouTube ratings and views, blog views and other factors. Basically, it’s a promotion to ensure that iFart Mobile
maintains its buzz, which so many apps in the App Store lose shortly after they launch. iFart Mobile
is still the number four paid app in the store, and Comm says it’s had over 300,000 downloads since it launched in December.
