Courtney Love has lost legal control of her daughter Frances Bean Cobain, who is 17 years old.
In papers filed on Friday in L.A. Superior Court, temporary guardianship was handed over to Wendy O’Connor and Kimberly Cobain, who are the mother and sister of Frances’ father, former Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.
The guardianship is said to have been granted for both Frances’ personal and financial well-being. The new guardians, however, were not granted control over the trust established for Frances after Kurt Cobain’s death.
Love has lost control of her daughter before.
Back in October of 2003, she lost custody when Frances was ordered to live with Wendy O’Connor after Love was arrested for trying to break into the home of her ex-boyfriend, a drug overdose and a suicide threat .
Courtney didn’t get custody back until 2005.
