Is your blog languishing? Are your Alexa rankings suffering? Fear not, there may be hope for you yet, IF you’ve got the right niche.
Take for example Sportspickle.com. The satirical sports website was just purchased by IAC-owned College Humor for an undisclosed sum.
There are two things that make this purchase remarkable.
One, the Sportspickle.com site is UGLY. The lime-green pickle coloring is almost enough to make me reach for the barf bag.
Two, the site has very little traffic. It has an Alexa of right around 440,000. Yes, 440,000.
So take heart, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Sportspickle was established in 2001, and a book based on the fake columns was published in 2007. Content from the site has also been syndicated by ESPN, reports Paid Content.
