Christina Aguilera was arrested for public intoxication on Tuesday morning after her rumored boyfriend Matthew Rutler was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Aguilera, 30, was riding in a vehicle that had been pulled over 2:45 a.m. PST / 5:45 a.m. EST in West Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Rutler appeared to be driving erratically, was determined to be driving while under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.
It was also then determined that Aguilera was also intoxicated and unable to care for herself, so she was taken into custody as well.
One source points out that, “had the driver NOT been arrested for DUI, [Christina] would have never been in trouble.”
Rutler is currently being held on $30,000 bail, while Aguilera’s bail was set at $250.
Friends say they have been trying to get Christina Aguilera into rehab for several months.
