After just 15 months of marriage, Chris Evert and Greg Norman have begun a mutual separation. Representatives for both former athletes have confirmed the separation.
“Chris and Greg will remain friends and supportive of one another’s family,” Evert’s rep, Tammy Starr, said on Friday.
Chris Evert, a former tennis champion, and Greg Norman, a golfing legend, got married at sunset in the Bahamas on June 28th, 2008. They got engaged the previous year in South Africa.
At the time, Norman was quoted as saying, “The marriage is better than I expected. We have a mutual respect for each other, and I love taking her a cup of coffee each morning … We are compatible and like many of the same things. It is easy to be happy.”
The couple has quite a large family, them with Greg Norman having two children and Chris Evert having three sons from ex-hubby Andy Mill.
