Sometimes, I wonder what marketing people are smoking.

Take, for example, the marketing folks over at 'Chia Pet'.  Apparently, one of them thought it would be a good idea to come up with a Chia Pet that resembles President Obama.

Now, some local Walgreen's stores are pulling the 'Chia Obama' from shelves.

A Walgreen's spokesperson stated that area store managers are able to order and market items, like the Chia Obama, on their own.

In this case, however, the Walgreen's corporate office is asking stores to remove the item from their stores because it is not appropriate for the company's corporate image.

The Chia Obama is a version of the Chia Pet line, which features a ceramic figure upon which fresh greens are planted and allowed to grow, filling out the likeness of the subject.
