Norm is back. That classic barstool icon from the '80s show Cheers, George Wendt, is in love with beer...so much so that he's written a book about it.
"Drinking with George: A Barstool Professional's Guide to Beer" is a cross between Wendt's memoir and a love letter to beer.
“Beer has been very good to me over the years and I felt it was time to give something back,” says Wendt. “I could have written a poem or a Barry White love song or something like this, but I opted for the book instead.”
After years of being asked if he was going to write a book, Wendt, 61, says that opted to write a beer humor book full of his “lifetime of research.”
Both George Wendt and Norm love beer, but the similarities between the two would seem to end there.
“I have a much better relationship with my wife than Norm did,” Wendt said.
Since Cheers ended, Wendt has been keeping busy writing his book and starring in productions such as 12 Angry Men and Hairspray on Broadway.
