Remember that Chandra Levy case from way back in 2001?
A cold case reinvestigation of the intern’s murder has paid off. In fact, it looks like an arrest could occur at any time.
UPDATE: Levy’s killer has been sentenced to 60 years in prison
The 2001 murder of Chandra Levy rocked the nation after it was revealed that the intern had been having an affair with then U.S. Representative Gary Condit of California. At the time, Condit was a senior member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
The unnamed suspect is thought be a 27-year-old immigrant who is already serving jail time. The arrest of a suspect could finally clear Condit.
Gary Condit had this to say in a statement:
“For the Levy family, we are glad they are finally getting the answers they deserve. For my family, I am glad that their years of standing together in the face of such adversity have finally led to the truth.”
“It is unfortunate that an insatiable appetite for sensationalism blocked so many from searching for the real answers for so long. I had always hoped to have the opportunity to tell my side of this story, but too many were not prepared to listen. Now I plan to do so, but I will have no further comments on this story at this time.”
