WalMart officials are conducting an investigation after someone used the public address system to make an announcement asking "all black people'' to leave a store in South Jersey.

On Sunday night at the Route 42 store in Washington Township, a man announced: "Attention WalMart customers: All black people leave the store now.''

Patricia Covington and Shelia Ellington were shopping at the store when the incident occurred. The two friends said that customers and employees looked shocked when they heard the announcement.

"In 2010, I want to know why such statements are being made because it flies in the face of what we teach them [our kids] at home, and that's tolerance for people," said Ellington.

Ellington and other customers were so upset, they asked the store to use the same P.A. system to apologize to customers that same night, which it did.

Ashley Hardie, a corporate spokesperson for WalMart, described the incident at the Route 42 store as "unacceptable to us and to our customers. We are currently reviewing our systems to prevent this from happening in the future," she said.

Washington Township police and the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office are now investigating the incident as a possible bias crime.

"I can't believe it in this day and age," Covington said. "WalMart needs to be more responsible."

Covington and Elllington are boycotting the store.

He Pingping, World’s Shortest Man, Dead at 21

The world's smallest man, He Pingping, has died in Italy, where he was set to participate in a TV show, according to the program's production company.

Pingping stood just 2 feet, 5.37 inches (74.6 centimeters) tall and was a famous figure throughout the world. He had taken part in TV programs, photo shoots and many other events, said Guinness World Records.

Guinness World Records editor-in-chief Craig Glenday says he was "an inspiration to anyone considered different or unusual" and "showed us that, despite the challenges we face, we can still make the most out of life."

The TV production company Europroduzione says he died on Saturday.

Pingping was born in 1988 with a rare form of primordial dwarfism.

He had been admitted to a hospital on March 3 after he had become sick while rehearsing on the set of the Italian program The Record Show.

He was later transferred to the ICU where it was determined that he had a heart condition and high cholesterol, although the official cause of death has yet to be released.

Pingping's body will be flown back to his native China as soon as the necessary paperwork has been completed.

Donna Simpson Wants to Become World’s Fattest Woman

An overweight mom from New Jersey wants to put on more weight so she can become the world's fattest woman. How ambitious can you get, right?

Donna Simpson now weighs 602 lbs. but wants to reach her "goal weight" of 1,000 lbs. in two years.

Simpson, 42, already holds the prestigious moniker of "world's fattest mother" after giving birth to her daughter in 2007 when she weighed 531 lbs.

"I'd love to be 1,000 pounds ... it might be hard though, running after my daughter keeps my weight down," Simpson said recently.

She uses a mobility scooter to get around, eats loads of junk food, and tries to move as little as possible so as not to accidentally burn off any calories.

Her loving partner, Philippe, 49 (whom she met on a dating site for big people) is encouraging her to reach her goal.

"I think he'd like it if I was bigger ... he's a real belly man and completely supports me," she said.

I'd love to see him try and support her without getting a double-hernia, actually.

To reach her goal of 1,000 lbs., Simpson will have to eat 12,000 calories per day, six times the recommended daily intake for women.

Her weekly grocery bill? $815.

To help foot the bill, she runs a website where men pay to watch her eat fast food. Seriously.

Lee Jin-gyu fell in love with his "dakimakura" - a large pillow from Japan with a picture of a popular anime character printed on it. In fact, he loved it so much, he married it.

Lee's pillow has an image of Fate Testarossa, from the anime series Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. He married the pillow in a special ceremony, after putting it in a wedding dress for a service with a local priest.

"He is completely obsessed with this pillow and takes it everywhere," said one of his friends.

"They go out to the park or the funfair where it will go on all the rides with him. Then when he goes out to eat he takes it with him and it gets its own seat and its own meal," the friend added.

This is not the first usual marriage like this we've seen in recent months. You may recall that a Japanese man married his virtual girlfriend, Nene Anegasaki, a character who only exists in the Nintendo DS game "Love Plus", last year.

School Prom Cancelled after Lesbian’s Date Request Gets ACLU Support

A school district in Mississippi won't be holding a high school prom this year after a gay female student asked to show up with her girlfriend and wear a tuxedo.

The board of the Itawamba County school district opted on Wednesday to cancel the prom due to what it called "recent distractions," but didn't mention the girl's request, which has gotten support from the American Civil Liberties Union.

The student in question, Constance McMillen, 18, says the cancellation was retaliation for her efforts to bring her girlfriend, who is also a student, to the dance.

"A bunch of kids at school are really going to hate me for this, so in a way it's really retaliation," McMillen said.

The school's policy states that senior prom dates must be of the opposite sex. The ACLU of Mississippi had given the district until Wednesday to change that policy, saying that prohibiting same-sex prom dates violated McMillen's constitutional rights.

The school board instead opted to issue a statement announcing it would not host the annual event at Itawamba County Agricultural High School in Fulton, "due to the distractions to the educational process caused by recent events."

The ACLU said McMillen went to school officials shortly before the memo went out because she knew same-sex dates had been banned previously. The ACLU said officials told McMillen that she and her date would not be permitted to arrive together, that she couldn't wear a tux, and that she and her girlfriend might be asked to leave if their presence made students "uncomfortable."

McMillen said she was afraid she might be ejected fromthe prom because "we do live in the Bible Belt."
