Gabriela Cedillo had filed a lawsuit against Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Studios after she suffered a traumatic head injury during a stunt that went horribly wrong in Indiana on September 1, 2010.

Cedillo was driving her own vehicle in the background of an action sequence for the big-budget sequel when a cable snapped between a stunt car that was being pulled by another car.

The cable whipped around and sliced through Cedillo’s windshield, striking her in the head.

Cedillo was airlifted to a local hospital where she underwent emergency surgery, but it was determined that the damage to her brain would be permanent.

“A large part of her brain was lost. She has difficulty with memory. She can’t remember when she went to the bathroom five minutes earlier,” said Todd Smith, Cedillo’s lawyer.

Paramount and DreamWorks had each originally agreed to cover the associated medical costs, which soared beyond $350,000, but in the end, each company went to great lengths to avoid paying anything, according to the lawsuit.

Now, the two studios will pay up, and a judge has officially signed off on the settlement.

Indiana safety officials investigate the accident and determined that the studios didn’t violate any operational standards.

As for Cedillo herself, she seems to be recuperating as best as can be expected, given the circumstances.

“She is on her feet and talking and for that we are thankful,” said Smith at a press conference. “On the other side, she has significant cognizant impairment and with a period of hallucinations…She is going to have issues for the rest of her life.”

Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd won the Mirror Ball trophy at the end of the Dancing with the Stars Season 14 finale last night.

The duo faced stiff competition from Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas, who finished second.

William Levy and Cheryl Burke finished in third place.

All three couples earned a 30 for their final dance, but only Jenkins and Ballas had a perfect 90 out of 90 total after both Monday and Tuesday’s performances.

Those scores were combined with viewers’ votes, which counted for 50 percent of the final results.

This is Murgatoyd’s first win in just her second year on the show popular ABC show.

The next season of DWTS will feature contestants from past seasons.

The “Hunger Games” star has purchased Heath Ledger’s $3 million tree house.

The 19-year-old actor is the latest in a series of celebrities who have owned the two-bedroom, two-bathroom property.

Ledger and his then-girlfriend Michelle Williams first bought the property from talk show host Ellen DeGeneres back in 2006. The home in Hollywood Hills, built in 1951, has been nicknamed “The Treehouse” due to its wooden structure and the picturesque views of its garden.

After Ledger died of an accidental overdose in January 2008 at the age of 28, his estate sold the property later that same year. The owner who bought Heath Ledger’s tree house from the actor’s estate then listed it in September 2011 for $2.995 million, but it wasn’t immediately clear if that was the price paid by Hutcherson.

The house is set on nearly an acre of land and features large rooms with a wide deck area. The deck has spacious seating areas, an outdoor screening room, grill, and fire pit. It’s seated on a secluded hillside location across close to half an acre of land and features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a modern kitchen.

All in all, not too bad for a tree house.

Howard Stern still a newbie when it comes to judging on America’s Got Talent, but he might be done.

On last night’s show, Stern couldn’t argue with the fact that 7-year-old aspiring rapper Mir Money was so darn cute and cuddly.

Still, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s got talent.

Moments after Stern lit up the “X” of rejection, Money was clearly shaken. During Stern’s comments, he cracked, breaking down into tears.

Stern quickly rushed to the stage to console the kid as the crowd booed.

He told Money that was was already a winner for having the courage to perform on stage.

“You’re a terrific young man – you are so brave,” Stern said.

The emotional moment clearly took a toll on Howard.

“This job is too rough for me, I don’t really want to do it anymore,” Stern said.

He continued to be upset as he walked backstage, saying, “I’m not cut out for this, man. I’m shaking. I can’t do it, man. I can’t do it.”

President Obama made it perfectly clear he would NOT waste federal Department of Justice resources on busting medical marijuana dispensaries and their patients before being elected, but – like most politicians – his actions tell a much different story since he took office.

This video of libertarian and magician Penn Jillette slamming the president for his drug war policies and for infringing upon states’ rights has quickly gone viral, amassing close to 200,000 views already.

It’s a little slow to get going, but Penn really cranks it up a notch around the 2-minute mark.

Chyna was quickly taken to a nearby hospital.

Laurer was making an appearance at the 2012 Exxxotica Expo to help promote Vivid Entertainment’s adult film parody of “The Avengers” in which she plays She-Hulk.

A Vivid representative was quoted as saying that the was worried about her after a medical scare the previous day as well, but Chyna insisted that she was just fine.

She apparently made it into the convention on Saturday, but passed out in the lobby and was taken to Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.

Not only did she pass out at the convention, but Chyna was also booted out of a party on Thursday night for her unruly behavior, which included passing out in a swimming pool.

In an interview at the Kapow Comics Convention, DC Comics Co-Publisher Dan DiDio revealed that a “prominent” DC Comics character will soon come out of the closet.

The company is about to reintroduce a previously existing DC Comics character who was previously straight, but will now be “one of our most prominent gay characters.”

That would seem to reverse an earlier statement from DiDio in which he stated that DC Comics was more likely to insert a new LGBT character, as opposed to outing an existing superhero.

Senior VP Sales Bob Wayne explained that, just like the President Obama, DC Comics’ policy on this “has evolved.”

Topping this year‘s list is Israeli beauty Bar Refaeli, who came in at number 6 on the 2011 Maxim Hot 100 (Rosie Huntington Whiteley topped last year’s list).

Of the dubious honor, the 26-year-old Israeli stunner said, “I am shocked that among all these beautiful ladies, I’m number one. Thank you so much for voting for me! I’m truly honored. This is the title I will never forget.”

For the first time in the magazine’s history, readers were asked to provide input in making the selections – which made for a few surprises.

Yes, Stephen Colbert made the list at No. 69.

Editor Dan Bova says Maxim magazine posted a list of suggestions online, but write-ins were also permitted.

“The Colbert Nation turned out in force,” Bova says. “As we say: Democracy isn’t pretty, but this time, it was downright handsome.”

Maxim decided to get its readers involved after years of backlash and negative reaction about omissions from the list.

“We decided: Why don’t you help us along in this process?” explained Bova.

Other women who rounded out the 2012 Maxim Hot 100 Top 10 include Olivia Munn, Mila Kunis, Katy Perry, Olivia Wilde, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Megan Fox, Malin Akerman, and Adrianne Palicki.

Although she wasn’t given any awards during its live telecast itself, Adele actually nabbed the most gongs, amassing 12 awards, including Top Artist.

Adele sealed her romp by landing two gongs in album awards and song awards categories each, thanks to her ground-breaking album “21″ and her hit single “Rolling in the Deep.”

In the Top Artist category, Adele beat out Lady GaGa, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, and Rihanna. Despite receiving the most awards, the British pop star didn’t actually appear at the live event, which was held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

LMFAO were the second top winners, grabbing six awards, with their “Party Rock Anthem” nabbing five nods.

Coldplay and Lil Wayne each got four awards each, while Casting Crowns, Jason Aldean, and Lady Gaga each took home two awards.

Justin Bieber took home “Top Social Artist” honors, Taylor Swift took “Woman of the Year,” and Whitney Houston received the Millenium Award, while Stevie Wonder was honored with the Billboard Icon Award.

He was 62 years old.

His spokesperson released a prepared statement that reads:

“The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”

Two years ago, Gibb was diagnosed with colon and liver cancer. He had been hospitalized several times over the course of the last few years and, most recently, was hospitalized with pneumonia last month.

He went into a coma, only to miraculously emerge several days later.

Gibb was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994 and the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

The “Terminator 3″ star checked into rehab last night, said Rose Stahl.

“I’m elated,” Rose, 30, said via email, according to People.

The actor had evidently reached out to close friends via email and informed them that he was going to be checking in to a treatment program.

Rose Stahl said that her husband sent an email on Friday night saying that he was OK, and that he was entering a 30-day rehab program that night.

Rose reported her husband missing to police in Los Angeles on Monday, May 14, saying she’d last seen Nick on May 9.

Let’s hope he finally gets the help he needs!
