Heiress to the Johnson & Johnson empire Casey Johnson, who had been engaged reality TV star Tila Tequila, was found dead on Monday in her L.A. home.
News of the untimely death broke around 8 p.m. EST. The family has issued a statement asking for privacy.
“The Johnson family is mourning its tragic loss, and asks for privacy during this very difficult time.”
Casey Johnson, daughter of New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, had been attempting to regain custody of her daughter, Ava.
She had also been arrested on November 30, 2009 and charged with two felonies. She had been accused of stealing around $22,000 worth of items from the home of Jasmine Lennard, a reality TV star who had appeared on Britain’s “Make Me a Supermodel.”
Her parents had recently cut her off from her trust fund after she refused to get help for drug addiction.
Tequila had been mentioning her fiance on Twitter for several days and updated her page shortly after news of Casey’s death hit the media.
