Carrie Underwood is ready to tie the knot. The singer has gotten engaged to Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher.
“I’m happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn’t be happier,” said Underwood’s publicist.
Underwood, 29, Fisher, 26, who plays for the Ottawa Senators, started dating over a year ago. Some friends introduced them to each other after one of her shows in Toronto.
The former American Idol champion recently wrote about Fisher in the liner notes for her latest CD, “Play On”, writing, “You are the most amazing addition to my life. I thank God for you every day…xoxo Carrie.”
The couple has not yet announced a wedding date.
