Carrie Prejean Fired! Miss California Loses Crown

Miss California, Carrie Prejean, has been fired, officials announced today. It's been a long time coming.

Carrie Prejean, who is 22 years old, miraculously managed to keep her crown last month despite a controversy over topless photos, missed appearances, her statements against same-sex marriage, and more topless photos.

Miss USA pageant owner Donald Trump decided to fire Carrie Prejean just one month after he decided to give her a second chance.

Shanna Moakler, who was the director of the California pageant, was so disgusted over that decision that she resigned in protest. "Carrie is a beautiful young woman, and I wish her well as she pursues her other interests," Trump said in a statement.

Miss Malibu Tami Farrell

Runner-up Tami Farrell, who was Miss Malibu, will now take over the Miss California USA title, effective immediately.

Said pageant Executive Director Keith Lewis:

"This was a decision based solely on contract violations, including Ms. Prejean's unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization. After our press conference in New York, we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship. However, since that time, it has become abundantly clear that Carrie is unwilling to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together."

Carrie Prejean blasted out a series of e-mails over the past few weeks indicating she didn't like the way she was being handled. One such e-mail states:

"You do not cooperate with me...you pick and chose [sic] the the [sic] things YOU want me to do. That is not happening anymore. Stop speaking for me. I have MY own voice."

Well, not any more, Carrie. Not any more.
