Wow, there are meltdowns and then there are meltdowns.
Carlos Zambrano got the official Milton Bradley "thumbs up" after being tossed from the Cubs / Pirates game on Wednesday. Zambrano had a meltdown for the ages after being ejected from the Cubs 5-2 victory.
"That was pretty impressive," Bradley said. "It was on a Bradley level."
After getting into a war of words with umpire Mark Carlson after Nyjer Morgan was called safe at home plate, Carlson appeared to nudge Zambrano and Zambrano nudged back, which got him tossed.
Carlos Zambrano then exploded and gestured that Carlson should be tossed from the game.
He wasn't done. He then heaved the baseball deep into left field, followed by his glove. He then went into the dugout and laid the smack down on the Gatorade dispenser.
Hopefully, MLB will notice that it was the umpire who initiated the contact here. Still, it was one hell of a temper tantrum.
