You know how all the fast food chains seem to be trying to add lots of healthy options to their menus lately?
Burger King has just basically said “screw that” and is rolling out a new bacon sundae.
The popular fast food chain on Thursday will launch several pork, beef, and chicken sandwiches as limited time offers.
For that sweet ending, Burger King will offer up a bacon sundae – featuring vanilla soft serve ice cream with fudge, caramel, bacon crumbles, and a piece of bacon – a treat that started in Nashville, Tennessee earlier this year.
The new bacon sundaes has 510 calories, 18 grams of fat, and 61 grams of sugar.
Earlier this year, BK debuted an expanded menu with healthier choices like fruit smoothies, wraps, and salads. This latest offering clearly seems to be a complete 180.
Perhaps this is their answer to that Jack in the Box 1,000+ calorie bacon milkshake that rolled out in February.
Still, the Burger King bacon sundae is actually pretty healthy compared to the Krispy Kreme bacon cheeseburger – a 1,500-calorie monstrosity that replaces the buns with doughnuts.
That burger, made popular by Paula Deen, originated at a state fair in Massachusetts.
