Get ready for your desktop as you’ve never seen it before – in 3D, with social media integration, courtesy of BumpTop.

BumpTop for Windows (Mac version not yet available) is an amazing desktop app that morphs your desktop into a dynamic 3D room that helps you organize your files, browse images, write notes, and even update your Twitter, Facebook, and email accounts.

So what can it do?  Here’s a brief list of features:

Document Organization: BumpTop will let you “stack” files in 3D and even sort them on grids, and quickly do a keyword search for desktop items.

Growing and Shrinking Files: You user can make important files or folders bigger and make other ones smaller to conserve space.  You can also have a little fun and “throw” files into one another.  The larger files will then plow through the smaller ones.

Pictures: You can put pictures on the “walls” and even rotate them.  It uses your “My Pictures” folder and cycles through all of your photos as a dynamic picture frame. It can also link to Flickr.

Multiple Dimensions: BumpTop creates more space for files by having three walls where you can pin pictures, videos, and notes. Double-clicking on any wall changes the focus to that wall.

Sticky Notes: Just like a sticky note application, it places notes on walls or anywhere else the user decides to pin them.

Facebook and Twitter Integration: BumpTop can update Twitter and Facebook accounts. Simply drag a photo onto the icon to share that photo, or double click to Tweet or access Facebook.

It includes even more features that will work with the upcoming Windows 7, including multi-touch support. It’s also important to note that all of the features of the desktop, including the right-click menu, are still available with BumpTop, and the program can be exited at anytime.
