Colorful Hearts Build a BearThe Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall on a popular stuffed animal that many children may have gotten for Christmas this year.

Build-A-Bear is recalling 284,000 Colorful Hearts Teddy Bears due to a potential choking hazard.

It seems the teddy bear’s eyes can come loose and fall off.  The stuffed bear stands approximately 16 inches tall with black plastic eyes. The fabric covering on the bear is printed with multi-colored heart shapes. On its official website, the company states that certain runs of this particular bear were made with substandard fabric, which can tear around the eyes.

So far, no injuries have been reported.

Consumers should return the product to any Build-A-Bear location to get a coupon for a replacement.

The bears affected by the recall were manufactured in China and sold in the U.S. and Canada from April through December of this year.
