The Philadelphia Eagles said goodbye to Brian Westbrook yesterday, releasing the running back after an eight-year career with the team, during which he accumulated almost 6,000 yards rushing and over 3,800 yards receiving. ESPN was eager to land an interview with the former All-Pro and they seemed to have one set up.
However, when “Brian Westbrook” appeared to call in to SportsCenter, it turned out to be Captain Janks from the Howard Stern Show. About 30 seconds into his discussion with anchor Scott Van Pelt, “Westbrook” said that he has “nothing but respect for head coach Andy Reid and I look forward to a future of worshiping the prostate of Howard Stern.”
Van Pelt reacted immediately to viewers, stating, “Oh boy, we got that, huh? So that worked out well.”
There was a brief pause before he turned things over to co-anchor Steve Levy with a casual “Hi.”
