Brett Favre surprised the world on Tuesday, signing with the Minnesota Vikings.  This is the second time in two years that Favre announced he would retire, only to change his mind soon thereafter.

The Vikings, who had previously been left empty-handed on the eve of training camp, will hold a press conference later on Tuesday.  When Favre previously announced his retirement, coach Brad Childress said the Vikings would press on with the QB’a the team already had on its roster.

Now, Brett Favre and his wife, Deanna, have been seen getting on a team plane at the Hattiesburg, Mississippi airport.

Favre did leave open the possibility of a return, but most speculated that he wouldn’t make a decision until the regular season. Now, Favre becomes the Vikings starting quarterback, ahead of Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson with three preseason games remaining.
