An ice cream shop in London is raising a few eyebrows by offering a new variety of ice cream made with breast milk, beginning today.
The new breast milk ice cream, called the “Baby Gaga”, is now being sold at The Icecreamists restaurant in London’s Covent Garden.
UPDATE: Lady Gaga may sue over the name
Founder Matt O’Connor says he’s convinced his tasty new treat, which is priced at about $23, won’t be a bust.
“Some people will hear about it and go, ‘yuck’ but actually it’s pure, organic, free-range and totally natural,” he said. “I had a Baby Gaga just this morning and I feel great.”
The breast milk was provided by moms who answered an advertisement on an online mothers’ forum.
The Baby Gaga recipe mixes breast milk with vanilla pods from Madagascar and lemon zest, which is then churned to create ice cream.
Baby Gaga is one of a dozen new radical flavors at the shop. We’ll keep you abreast of how it sells.
